Welcome to your new home. Life at the Center will offer you many opportunities...to make new friends...to share a new home with old ones...to explore interests and talents through engaging activities...to join a community in which your well-being is the foremost concern. Many dedicated professionals will be part of your life at the Center. These include the nurse, social worker, and geriatrician who make up your primary care treatment team (see "Your Healthcare," page 15); nurse assistants; other medical, rehabilitation, and recreational specialists; the Rabbi; and the unit secretary. In addition, the Center is privileged to have devoted volunteers who contribute to residents' lives in many ways.
Your family, too, is an integral part of your life here. We welcome - and encourage - your family not only to visit but also to become involved. We want them to feel that your home is their home, too, so we provide many opportunities for your family to become part of our family (please see Sharing Your New Home, page 11).
Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality of life within a safe, secure, and comfortable environment. This section of Life at the Center will familiarize you with the facilities, services, and day-to-day activities that help us meet this goal. We hope that it will answer many of your questions....
