1. Every project at PAI starts with probing questions and playful brainstorming. We prefer committed client involvement at this stage so that we "get things right" before we move into design and development. Only with a deep understanding of your markets, goals, requirements, constraints, and business culture can we develop the elegant interactive designs that deliver the most value within your resources.

2. Once we've formalized our ideas and creative approach with a script and high-level design, we again request client review to assure that we "got it right" -- the right positioning, tone, organization, look and feel, interactive flow, and, of course, the right facts. Creative and technical development begins when you have formally signed off on this phase.

3. Creative and technical development involves graphic design, illustration, scoring of music and sound effects, and programming. The goal is an alpha release that provides all features and functionality at the earliest possible moment. Client review at this stage assures that the product or presentation fulfills the requirements of the script and high-level design.

4. Given formal sign-off of the alpha release, we go into the final cycles of testing and revision. The goal is to polish the work to perfection, e.g., to create a master release suitable for distribution. We provide intensive in-house testing, but encourage our clients to test independently. The more eyes that look at the work, the less likely a bug, graphic, or copy glitch will find its way into the field. We require formal sign-off before we release the master for replication or on-line publication.
